Indian Summer

Getting things moving with the marvellous technical achievement of Wolfenstein 3D on the Super Famicom along with the extreme visual and aural delight of Actraiser. Retina ruining shmup action dominates the PS2 scene with three instalments of the delightful Psyvariar series not giving you time to blink. The PC Engine quietly gets on with its processing prowess proving you can't judge a console by its modest white cover: Gradius II and Super Raiden for the grizzled shooter vet, Adventure Island and Takeda Shingen for the action old hand. More undiscovered gems on the PSX proving it can rival even the Saturn for classic capers if you look in the right places in the wonderous and wacky Cooking Fighter Hao. Coin - op high jinx abound in the slick Sega converion of Crazy Taxi on the Dreamcast. The eternally youthful Sega Saturn continues to delight with a deluge of classic 2D titles both Ram Cart fortified fight fests and old school shmups with solid mechanics. Fist of the North Star's Kenshiro is a peach of a discovery in its post - apocalyptic Mega Drive world with the friendlier faces of Sparkster and Dynamite Heddy giving a more light hearted diversion. Sneak Preview

Here's a sneak preview of the latest additions to the site: Densha De GO! 2 for the N64 adds another facet to this supreme series with a microphone - just don't let the neighbours see you playing it. Bubble Bobble DS and Super Mario 64 DS demonstrate the power of the little handheld known as the DS. The PSX starts throwing its weight around with King of Fighters and the saucy Advanced VG 2. Not half as tasty as the morsels on offer in the bizarre Manpuku Nabe Kazoku of the gourmet genre. The PS2 gets all nostalgic with a cracking conversion of whip wielding, arcade antics in Akumajo Dracula. A delightful treat for PSP owners in the form of Ooedo Senryobako packed full of Eastern promise. This month also sees a wealth of restocks on the DC, Mega Drive, Saturn.... Plus some fine pieces of hardware too: the eternal Super Famicom with a plethora of import only classics, the Neo Geo AES - a Rolls Royce amongst consoles and the PSone - a great way to discover import gaming with many titles often far cheaper than the Saturn. Finally the Pia Carrot series gets immortalised in these stunning Kotobukiya styled figurines. More to come soon... For the full update please point your browser here...

Feel the Heat

Recent highlights include close encounters of the crustacean kind in Darius R on the GBA, the ultra rare anime antics of Silky Lip on the Mega CD, mighty fine old school fun on the Mega Drive with Mickey Mouse, Strider and Golden Axe II. Cool Cool Jam on the Neo Geo Pocket Color puts the rhythm back in your stride with the Dreamcast Link Cable available too. Bushido Blade 2 on the PSX delivers the cold edge of steel with plenty of bargains to be had on the Saturn. The SFC shows its strength in depth with Sumo, shmups and the eternal Super Mario Kart.

Gundam Scramble Final Version

Whilst unfortunately not on the site, we came across this game under lock and key in Japan recently. "Gundam Scramble Final Version" on the Famicom was limited to a thousand units and, appropriately for a cartridge produced in silver colour, now retails for around £800 boxed with instructions. One for the hardcore and insurance brokers then...

May Day Alert

More delights for the discerning gamer on the site. The Dreamcast leads the hardware battle with some delightful limited edition machines that would look chic on anyone's coffee table. Trizeal and the House of the Dead Gun Set forge the assault on the software front. Saturn owners are in for a treat with the elusive platformer Tryrush Deppy, King of Fighters 96 remonstrates SNK's command of the Saturn and G Vector demonstrates the 3D capability in the right hands. The PSX shows almost Saturn like hardcore gaming qualities in Makeruna Makendo 2, whilst we wouldn't mess with anyone in a white suit in Ichigeki Hagane no Hito. Capcom Fighting Jam cracks a few skulls on the PS2 whilst Genji does it with a sword and a bit of samurai class.

The Simple 2000 range continues to expand with B movie wannabe Daibijin and the Sega Ages collection continues on Sony's baby with Phantasy Star. New arrivals on most the Nintendo systems, but its the Super Famicom leading the way with an update of the PCE classic Super PC Kid 2, the adorable Syo the Seal and the FX Chip powered Wild Trax. Mind you little brother Famicom brings the nostalgia flooding back with Macross, Akira and the Japanese gem Ikki. Alien Storm, Arrow Flash and the expansive highways of Out Runners boost the Mega Drive section with a few CD's to unwind to in the Soundtracks section.

All these plus hundreds of restocks and new listings order (thanks for all the feedback). Full details can be found on the following link...

Japan trip

The recent buying trip to Japan unearthed some intriguing artifacts although we didn't get them for the store (yet.....!)

Could this be an early Famicom prototype that Gunpei Yokoi san was working on with built in Mintel like facilities? Maybe only Shigs himself knows the truth....?
